The Congress on Saturday continued its flip-flop over Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, with senior party leader Digvijay Singh saying the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader has, "by and large, a secular image".

"He (Nitish Kumar) has, by and large, a secular image, and the only question mark about him is his present alignment with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)," Singh told India TV editor-in-chief Rajat Sharma in "Aap Ki Adalat" show.
Singh also clarified Rahul Gandhi's May 5 remarks praising Nitish Kumar, which were widely interpreted as a tactic to woo the Bihar leader.
"If some politician is doing good work, there is no harm praising him. But it is wrong to search for hidden questions behind this remark," Singh said.
"But everything will depend on May 16 (election) results," he said, indicating that the Congress had not given up on winning Nitish Kumar's support for forming the next government at the centre.
