'No communication gap between govt, army chief'

Clearing the air on Wednesday, defence minister AK Antony said that there was no communication gap between the government and army chief General VK Singh.

Clearing the air on Wednesday, defence minister AK Antony said that there was no communication gap between the government and army chief General VK Singh.

"Our policy is no cover up, no vendetta. There is no communication gap between the defence minister and defence chiefs. There is no confrontation between us," he said.

Antony also said that the functioning of the Indian Army has improved and that he will look into the allegations and take action, if necessary.

On Tuesday, the defence minister dismissed as "rumours" reports about shortage of certain tank ammunition and said there will always be "shortcomings" but the country was in a much stronger position as compared to the past.
