Declining the plea of Real Mazon India Ltd — which was ousted during the bidding process — for a stay on the contract awarded to Rosmerta Technology Ltd, a bench of justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Rajiv Shakdher fixed July 11 as the next date of hearing.

Appearing for the Delhi government, Standing Counsel Najmi Waziri contended that the Madhya Pradesh government had also disqualified Real Mazon from manufacturing the HSRP. The company recently lost the legal battle before the Gwalior bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Waziri said.

He said the government had awarded the contract in March to Rosmerta Technology Ltd as its bid was the lowest.

“The successful bidder had agreed to make a number plate for just R119 whereas the petitioner company had quoted a price of Rs 136 per plate,” he said.

The company said it was arbitrarily disqualified at the stage of technical evaluation of its bid for implementation of the high security plate scheme in Delhi.
