North corp vigilant on mid-day meals

After mid-day meals poisoned 23 children in Bihar, the north corporation on Friday issued strict instructions to ensure quality in schools under its jurisdiction.

After mid-day meals poisoned 23 children in Bihar, the north corporation on Friday issued strict instructions to ensure quality in schools under its jurisdiction.

The orders include putting up a display board in front of the offices of the five NGOs, stating to which schools they supply food.

“CCTV cameras will be installed in the kitchens. Four teams — under the standing committee chairman, mayor, leader of the House and leader of the Opposition — will conduct surprise visits to schools,” leader of the House Mahender Nagpal said.

Meanwhile, south corporation commissioner Manish Gupta visited schools in Jaitpur, Tuglakabad Village and Okhla along on Friday.
He told the school officials, principal and mid-day-meal in-charge that deficiencies in the meal will not be tolerated. htc
