The summit will be held at the Taj Palace Hotel.

While the coffee to be served at the event has been sourced from Brazil, tea has been flown in from China, fresh fruit from South Africa and berries from Russia.

The theme of this year's summit, to be attended by Brazilian President Dilma Vana Rousseff, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Chinese President Hu Jintao and South African President Jacob Zuma, is 'BRICS Partnership for Global Stability, Security and Prosperity'.

The banquet halls at the Taj Palace have been given an opulent look with rich carpets and wall panels – complemented by ornamental chairs for the five heads of state. The lounge allocated for informal discussions has been done up like a library, and it boasts of a collection of the finest coffee table books from India.

For security reasons, the visiting heads of state have been advised by the MEA to stay at different hotels in the Capital. While the Brazilian President will stay at the Taj Palace itself, the Russian President will reside at ITC Maurya, the Chinese President at The Oberoi and the South African President at the Taj Mahal Hotel.

The logo of the summit – a peacock with multi-coloured feathers – was designed by Sonesh Jain, an architecture student of the Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee, after he won a logo design contest organised by the government in January.
