A 24-year-old man was arrested for attacking a nursing student at the Moolchand hospital when she spurned his advances in southeast Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar on December 11, police said on Thursday. HT reports.

“The assailant has been identified as Subhan, working as an attendant in the hospital’s mess. He was arrested immediately after the victim approached us with her complaint on December 11,” said OP Mishra, deputy commissioner of police (southeast).

Police said the victim had suffered grievous injuries after having been attacked five times with a kitchen knife.

“A case had been registered and investigations are underway,” DCP Mishra added.
