One arrested for raping 16-year-old

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three youth, including her neighbour, at her residence in Sector-24, Rohini, last Tuesday. According to police, the victim was alone at her home at the time of the incident.

On the basis of the victim’s complaint, a case was lodged at Prashant Vihar police station. The victim’s neighbour, Amit, was arrested on Sunday. Amit confessed to his crime during interrogation. He, however, denied anyone else’s involvement in the matter.

Quoting the girl’s allegations, a senior police officer said, the girl, a class 8 student in a government school, was at home when Amit and two others entered the house, overpowered her and blindfolded her. Then the three took turns to rape her, he said.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a 17-year-old girl on Tuesday alleged that she was abducted by two youths in a
car on KN Katju Marg area in outer Delhi. The girl, a class 11 student in a Government school in Rohini’s Sector-15, was returning home when she was abducted.
