Delhi Police have arrested one more accused in the multi-crore heist that had occurred in South Delhi’s Defence Colony recently. The accused, Ranjit alias Rumal, was arrested from Kolkata.

“Ranjit had planned to start a small shop. The accused was offered a shop for Rs. 7.55 lakh and he even got it registered on his name with the booty,” Chhaya Sharma, DCP (south) said.
Sources said in the second week of October, the police had received information that Ranjit has escaped to West Bengal along with his family. “The team proceeded to West Bengal and was able to locate the house of Ranjit’s brother-in-law in Behrampur. But the accused had already left that place,” Sharma added.
The police team finally nabbed him near Hardev Nagar in Kolkata. This was the 12th arrest in the case. The police have recovered R49 lakh in cash and jewellery worth R2.25 lakh from Ranjit.
Ranjit, a school dropout, was earlier involved in small crime such as picking pockets.
