Parking charges at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) have been hiked by 10-15%.
Passengers will now have to shell more for parking their vehicles at the multi-level car parking at the airport, with the minimum charges being raised to Rs 80. As per the new rates, for half an hour, one has to pay Rs 80 and for an hour the rate has been fixed at Rs 160. Earlier, the charges for parking the same durations were Rs 70 and Rs 140.
"For 24-hours the parking charge will now be R 1,050. It was Rs 900 earlier. As per the contract, parking rates can be changed in three years, and this is the first time that the charges have been hiked since the construction of Terminal 3," said an airport official.
Rate of valet parking has also been increased to Rs 350 from Rs 300. Charges have also been hiked at the domestic terminal.
Besides, at the domestic terminal cars will waiting for over five minutes will have to pay an 'overstaying charge' of Rs 100 and Rs 50 will have to be paid for subequent five minutes.
