PF scam: Bail for six former judges

As many as six former judges, accused in Rs 6.58-crore Ghaziabad Provident Fund (PF) scam, finally managed to secure bail from a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court after furnishing a bond of R1 lakh each and two sureties.

Thursday’s hearing at the CBI court went on for over four hours as the counsels of the six former judges argued before the court to grant bail to accused RP Mishra, Ajai Kumar Singh, Arun Kumar, RP Yadav, RS Chaubey and RN Mishra, who were present in person for the hearing.

In its order released Thursday evening, the CBI special judge also ordered them to furnish a bond of R1 lakh each and subjected them to furnish an undertaking that they will not influence the witnesses or evidences, or skip hearings on medical grounds or interfere with the court’s proceedings.

“We managed to get bail on grounds that the investigating agency did not investigate the matter properly and only held the head of institution responsible for the entire scam,” said Nandit Srivastava, counsel for three former judges.
