Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson confined herself to saying that the meeting between the two leaders lasted for 45 minutes during which they discussed the forthcoming Parliament's monsoon session and current political situation.

"They also discussed various other issues of national and international importance," the spokesperson said in a statement.

The meeting comes two days after the Prime Minister told a group of editors that a cabinet reshuffle was in the offing, saying it was work in progress.

Patil is going to Hyderabad tomorrow on a week long sojourn and speculation persisted that the proposed reshuffle will take place after her return on July 8.
