The EC is likely to announce the schedule for assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur in the next couple of days. The EC on Friday held discussions with home secretary RK Singh on the availability of para-military forces for the polls. Around 80,000 paramilitary personnel, apart from state police, are expected to be deployed during the polls.
