While the notification by Delhi Development Authority, paving the way for regularization of 1639 unauthorised colonies in Delhi would come as a huge relief to more than 50 lakh residents, it doesn't mean anything for those living in the 'posh' unauthorised colonies.

The regularisation of affluent unauthorised colonies such as Sainik Farms, Anantram Dairy and Mahendru Enclave has been kept on hold by the Urban Development Ministry.
"We can only hope that with so many colonies being regularised, Sainik Farms would eventually be regularised too," said a resident of the area, who didn't wish to be named. "Despite the decision on regularisation pending for such a long time, many basic facilities and infrastructure is now being provided in the area," he said.
Though the Delhi government has been demanding regularization of these affluent colonies for a long time, the Centre is of the opinion that this would send out a bad signal. The ministry is of the view that unauthorised colonies inhabited by affluent sections should not be legalised.
