Postmaster faces cheating charges

A 44-year-old woman has lodged an FIR against the former postmaster of Gulmohar Park Post Office for allegedly siphoning off Rs 5.25 lakh from her monthly income scheme (MIS).

The woman, Devaki Devi, lodged her complaint at the Defence Colony Police Station. The police said that the crime was allegedly committed in connivance with her distant relative and the postmaster, R.S. Bedi, now with another branch.

The police have booked them for forgery, cheating, criminal breach of trust, falsification of accounts and criminal conspiracy.
