The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has fast-tracked its dengue prevention programme, with breeding of dengue-causing mosquitoes found in summers in certain parts of the city. Delhi has already reported four cases of dengue this year; the number was one last year.

“Finding breeding of Aedes mosquitoes in the summer season is a matter of serious concern. We need to check the breeding on time to control its outbreak,” said a senior MCD official from the health department.
The civic agency, with the help of other agencies involved in vector-borne disease control programme such as Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Development Authority, Irrigation and Flood department etc., have identified the areas in Delhi that are sensitive for mosquito breeding.
