A property dealer was shot at and grievously injured at his Geeta Colony residence in east Delhi, police said on Thursday.

The assailant had been identified as one Bunty and is known to the victim. Bunty is on the run.
Police said Bunty had gone to meet Gurjeet, a Geeta Colony-based property dealer, around midnight on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the duo had a heated argument related to financial issues, following which Bunty whipped out a gun and opened fire at Gurjeet, hitting him in his leg, a senior police officer said. Bunty then fled from the spot.
The two knew each other well for long. Preliminary investigations suggest the weapon used in the crime was not licensed. However, the police are to confirm the fact from its licensing unit, an officer said.
Gurjeet has been admitted at Guru Teg Bahadur hospital and his condition is stable.
Bunty has a criminal record and had earlier been arrested on charges of murder. A case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Geeta Colony police station, the officer said.
