Intensifying their protests against real estate projects, Noida Extension farmers on Sunday asked the Greater Noida authority to resolve their disputes related to hiked compensation and abadi land within 15 days. Around 200 farmers held a meeting at Bisrakh village and disrupted work at various construction sites.

"Though the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) has given its approval to the Greater Noida Master Plan 2021 and the authority has allowed builders to start the construction work, farmers will continue with their protests till their demands are met," said Manvir Bhati, a farmer leader.
According to the agitating farmers, the authority had promised to resolve the abadi land issues but none of the cases have been settled as yet.
Meanwhile, the city administration deployed heavy police force at Gaur City Crossing to prevent any violence. A fire tender was also stationed near the protest site.
As per the Allahabad High Court order, majority of farmers have applied for 64.7% hiked compensation and 10% developed land.
Some farmers have been demanding compensation up to at least six times higher than the than circle rates for their acquired lands. The farmers have also sent a letter to Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Akhilesh Yadav.
"The chief minister must honour his commitment. Either we should get R12,000 per sqm or six times the circle rates. Any amount less than this would not be acceptable," said Dushyant Nagar, a farmer leader.
