The Delhi Police arrested Amrik Singh (55) —owner, publisher and editor of 'National Police Heart Monitor' —after their Punjab counterparts intimated them that they had recovered an identity card closely resembling that of the city force.

The incident came to light when Singh was arrested in an accident case in Punjab. The car involved in the accident was found carrying a board that said "a bridge between police and common people registered with the Government of India and Deputy Commissioner of Police National Police Monitor Delhi..."

Punjab Police contacted their Delhi counterparts to verify the claims. Investigations revealed that Singh had registered the magazine under the press section of the Licencing Branch of the Delhi Police.

It came to light that the I-card issued by Singh to one Mohinder Singh closely resembled to that of those issued by the Delhi Police. On this basis, the police said, Singh was arrested for allegedly using the I-Card with fraudulent intent. The registration of the magazine has been cancelled.
