“The choice of Rahul Gandhi... reflects the change a new generation of politicians is bringing to our political life. He is not just an inspirational leader but also a fine young man,” Singh said. “I hope he will continue to inspire men and women ... to attain the heights of excellence…”

On whether Rahul had come of age, Singh replied: “He has more than fulfilled the expectations we had… the best is yet to come... I have tried to make him accept Ministership but have not succeeded.”
