After evading the city for the last five days, rain finally lashed the national capital on Monday, bringing much-needed respite to residents from the hot and humid conditions.

The city witnessed just 2.3 mm of rain till 8.30 am but between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, rain gauges recorded 22mm of rainfall, the MeT department said.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 33.3 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season while the minimum was a notch above normal at 27.4 deg C.
The humidity level oscillated between 98% and 70%.
The rains also brought the problems of waterlogging in some areas, but traffic largely remained unaffected as it was a holiday for 'Eid'.
Before the rain, which started around noon, the intense humid conditions made life tough for Delhiites.
