RAW, IB line up to quiz Kazmi

From Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) operatives to representatives of several state police forces — everyone wants to speak to Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi.

“In the past six days, we have entertained officials from more than half a dozen agencies, including RAW and IB, and either fixed appointments for them with Kazmi or handed over copies of his interrogation report to them,” said a police officer.

Kazmi, who used to contribute to an Iran-based news wire service and volunteer as coach for an English language programme at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, was arrested by a special team near his residence in south Delhi's Jor Bagh area last Tuesday.

Police had claimed that Kazmi had provided logistical support to the plot, conducted a reconnaissance of the Israeli Embassy on Aurangzeb Road where the incident took place, and also harboured the perpetrators, who are supposed to be of Iranian origin.

On February 13, a biker had placed a ‘sticky bomb’ on an Israeli embassy car at Aurangzeb Road.
