The removal of Defence Research and Development Organization's (DRDO) laboratories from the US' negative entity list will help the Organization acquire high technology, Defence Minister A K Antony told the Lok Sabha on Monday.

In a written reply to the House, Antony said "it is expected that removal of DRDO laboratories from the list will work to DRDO's advantage in acquiring high technology in pace with the technology advancement subjected to lesser trade restrictions."
The United States had recently removed four DRDO labs from the negative entity list of its Export Administration Regulations (EAR) enabling them to acquire sensitive technologies from it.
The Minister informed Parliament that restrictions have been lifted from Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), Solid State Physical Laboratory (SSPL), Research Centre Imarat (RCI) and Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL).
