The much-awaited Ring Road bypass, the alternative to the Ring Road between Yamuna Velodrome (Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium) and Salim Garh Fort (near Kashmere Gate ISBT) has become partially operational.

The Public Works Department opened one carriageway of the 5.5-kilometre bypass on Thursday. Motorists coming from North Delhi can now use the newly built road to reach Daryaganj, Delhi Gate and even east Delhi. The other carriageway is likely to be opened in second week of September.
