A number of Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) have accused the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) of conducting a public hearing without informing them.

DERC is holding a public hearing for industrial, commercial and government bodies on Friday for determining the power tariff for this year.
"We strongly disapprove of the clandestine public hearing by DERC as it is against the norms followed and transparency. Indeed DERC does not want stakeholders to meet and stay divided," said Rajiv Kakaria, member of an NGO Chetna.
However, DERC chairman PD Sudhakar maintained that this hearing is not for the public and hence the RWAs have not been invited. "This public hearing is for commercial, industrial and government bodies which is why we have invited them. When we hold a public hearing on power tariff we will invite the RWAs too," he said. The public hearing to determine power tariff in the city will be held in June now.
