Senior Congress leader and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) vice president Jagdish Tytler said in a statement on Friday that his party colleague Suresh Kalmadi should be "kicked out" from the top post of the sports body if he does not resign himself.

"If Kalmadi does not resign, he should be removed with immediate effect," he said.
Kalmadi was granted bail earlier this month by the Delhi high court after he spent nearly nine months in prison in connection with corruption charges related to the Commonwealth Games (CWG) scam.
Tytler also blamed Kalmadi for the "humiliation" that the Indian sporting fraternity has faced, adding that anybody who supports him is "party to his loot".
"India can't bear any more humiliation; we should not allow people to make fun of Indian sports," he said.
Tytler endorsed the stand taken by sports minister Ajay Maken on the issue. Maken had said that he was uncomfortable with the idea of Kalmadi returning as the IOA president after his release from jail.
"I may not agree with Ajay Maken on many issues, but I support him fully this time," he said.
