Saffron haul at Delhi airport

Customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) have held a passenger with 14.6 kg saffron worth Rs.36.5 lakh. HT reports.

Customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) have held a passenger with 14.6 kg saffron worth Rs.36.5 lakh.

The officials said saffron was cheaper in Dubai and in winters, the demand increases in India and passengers tends to smuggle it and sell it at higher price.
