SC issues notice to CBI on Chauhan's plea

The apex court issues notice on a bail petition filed by Chauhan, sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in the Mumbai serial blasts case.

The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to CBI on an appeal and bail petition filed by Ibrahim Musa Chauhan, sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in the Mumbai serial blasts case.

Chauhan was found guilty of supplying weapons to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who has also been sentenced to six years' rigorous imprisonment under the Arms Act.

A Bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishanan was informed that Chauhan has been convicted both under the TADA and Arms Act.
