Almost a year after the members of Siri Fort Residents Welfare Association moved Supreme Court opposing the upcoming Commonwealth Games stadium, the apex court on Friday gave time to Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to respond to the Charles Correa report.

DDA has to submit its response before April 27 when the special forest bench comprising three SC judges would specially assemble to hear the case.
Correa, former chairman of Delhi Urban Arts Commission (DUAC), has opposed the construction of a stadium in the green belt. The well-known architect had recommended the Supreme Court on March 6 to punish DDA officials responsible for construction of squash and badminton courts on forestland.
Correa said the location was already rejected two years ago and that the DDA had ample time to locate an alternative site. He has suggested the eagle-shaped stadium be restructured and has also urged the court to order the relocation if DDA did not accept his advice.
