SDMC rejects BJP's pet scheme

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has rejected BJP's ambitious door-to-door collection programme, by calling it unviable. The programme was initiated in the unified MCD.

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has rejected BJP's ambitious door-to-door collection programme, by calling it unviable. The programme was initiated in the unified MCD.

"It is not viable in populated multistory buildings like we have in the Capital," said an SDMC councillor.

The civic body is now mulling over other options such as street-to-street garbage collection and segregation scheme to keep colonies clean.
