Section 144 at seven railway stations

The Delhi Police has enforced Section 144 of the CRPC on seven railway stations till October 30. The order comes into effect from October 1.

The Delhi Police has enforced Section 144 of the CRPC on seven railway stations till October 30. The order comes into effect from October 1. The move is aimed at keeping a keen eye on the stations, including New Delhi, Old Delhi, Sarai Rohilla, Hazarat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, Safdarjung and the Delhi Cantonment Railway. "Even persons calling out to visitors in an attempt to lure them to a particular location such as a hotel will be put behind bars," said a senior police officer.

"Assembly of more than four persons in the form of processions and demonstrations is also banned. In effect, any person found annoying or misleading the visitors in any way will be liable to be prosecuted," the officer said.The violators were liable to be arrested and detained for a period of at least one month.
