Delhi police have arrested seven persons, including two MBAs and five teachers, who were involved in cheating during the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) national level exam.
The exam for the post of social service assistants was held on Sunday at 172 centres across the country and over 2.76 lakh candidates appeared in it.Police said the mastermind are two MBA degree holders who arranged photocopies of question paper minutes before the exam, got the two teachers to solve and then communicated answers to applicants across the country through mobile phones.
Those arrested have been identified as Rahul Yadav (22), an MBA who was recently recruited as inspector in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and was supposed to join work on May 28, and Ram Kumar (26), an MBA from IP University and currently working as manager in the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
“Vijay Kumar (32), an MCD teacher and currently preparing for state civil service examination, Sunil Kumar (32), a teacher with a government primary school in Rewari, Manoj Kumar (27), an M.Tech and currently working as a teacher with a technology institute in Gurgaon, Yashpal Singh (34), working as a social security officer with employee state insurance corporation in Rewari, and Devesh Dinkar (27), who is preparing for civil service exam, have been arrested,” Sanjay Kumar Jain, DCP (crime) said.

{{/usCountry}}Police said after a tip-off provided by Head Constable Amit Tomar, a team was formed under the supervision of Additional DCP Joy Tirkey, and a raid was conducted at a school in Sultanpuri from where the gang had been operating.
“One of the accused named Sumit is absconding. It was he who smuggled out the question paper from the examination centre in Pitampura and gave it to Rahul and Ram Kumar,” the DCP added.
Police said the gang had taken R3.5 lakh to R7 lakh from the candidates, who were asked to carry mobile phones to the examination centre.
Police have also recovered photocopies of admit cards of 24 candidates and have written to the EPFO to trace them.
