Several Assam-bound trains of Northern Railways will be partially cancelled for four days from Saturday in view of the department's decision to suspend night running of trains on the North-East Frontier Railway zone up to January 27.

According to sources in the Northern Railways, train running will be restricted for 12 hours, from 12 pm to 6 am, during this period "to prevent terror attacks on railway properties in the state in the run-up to the Republic Day celebrations and thereafter."
Trains which will remain partially cancelled include the Dibrugarh Rajdhani express. It will originate from Guwahati instead of Dibrugarh.
The Brahmaputra Mail will also originate from Guwahati during this period, sources said.
Likewise, Guwahati-Lalgarh Avadh Assam Express will remain cancelled between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri and will originate from New Jalpaiguri instead of Guwahati.
On the other hand, Amritsar-Dibrugarh Express will be regulated at Guwahati up to 6 am on the Republic Day while New Delhi-Guwahati Poorvattar Sampark Kranti Express will be restricted at Alipurduar up to 5.30 am till January 27.
New Delhi-Guwahati Rajdhani Express will also be regulated at New Bongaigaon up to 6 am till January 27, sources said.
