"Did you see what happened to Raj Bala after the police attack on Saturday night? It can happen to anyone, so I'm carrying my voter ID card - just in case," said the Vinod Nagar resident.

Having left the Ramlila Grounds a bit early than she was planning to, due to a family contingency that she had cursed at the time, Tomar, like most Delhiites, had awoken to a morning of horror when told of the brutal police crackdown on her fellow crusaders.

"I'm here because I want to be here but I can't control what can happen to me. I'm carrying my ID so that, in the event of something happening to me, my family will be handed over whatever is left of me," she said.
