The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which probed the murder of Right to Information activist Shehla Masood in Bhopal last August, is likely to file its chargesheet by Friday.
Five persons, including local interior designer Zahida Parvez, a colleague, and three hired killers, are expected to be named in the document.According to the agency, Parvez had hired three persons — Shakib Ali Danger, Irfan and Taavis Khan — to kill Masood due to suspicions that the latter was getting close to local BJP legislator, Dhruv Narayan Singh. She allegedly had a relationship with Singh.
An official said the chargesheet will, however, not name Singh owing to lack of evidence. The legislator was grilled and put through polygraphs tests by the CBI. Singh was allegedly close to Masood, and used to frequent her Koh-e-Fiza flat.
“We conducted an in-depth examination to check if Singh either had knowledge of the Masood murder conspiracy, or played any role in it — considering his closeness to key accused Zahida Parvez. But we got no evidence against him,” the official said. “We also probed if he had funded the murder plan, but did not find anything to support that possibility.”

Masood was shot once in her neck point-blank, while she was sitting in her car near her Koh-e-Fiza house on August 16, 2011.
Pervez’s colleague Saba Farooqui allegedly abetted the conspiracy, keeping tabs on Singh's movement and telephonic conversations.
