The Delhi chief minister promised time-bound delivery of services to the representatives of resident welfare associations (RWAs) at the workshop organised at the Thyagraj Stadium. It saw participation by RWAs from all districts of the Capital.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had recently launched a stinging campaign against the Delhi CM, holding her directly responsible for alleged corruption and rising tariffs of water and power in the Capital. The newly-launched party has fielded its leader Arvind Kejriwal against the CM in New Delhi — the constituency she represents in the Delhi assembly.

According to officials, Dikshit interacted with over 100 representatives directly and later spoke to around 200 of them individually. She directed the deputy commissioners of all the districts to hold monthly meetings with the RWAs to record their feedback so that governance could be made citizen-friendly.

Several RWAs complained over the delay in disbursement of funds under the ‘My Delhi I Care’ fund, which is meant to help residents improve facilities in their area.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal also visited Valmiki Colony on New Delhi’s Mandir Marg on Sunday and interacted with the residents.

According to an AAP spokesperson, Kejriwal met the people in the area and was told that the chief minister had not visited the place in the past 15 years despite it falling under her own constituency.

Kishanpal Mangvana, a community member, claimed the area has been facing several problems and despite repeated complaints to the chief minister and other officials, nothing has been done so far.
