“We do not fear for our lives and would definitely help the police bring the murderers to book,” said Ramesh Mehta, owner of Prem Watch Company, from where the accused bought watches.

Closed circuit TV cameras installed in the shop had recorded images of the four accused. A beat constable had recognised one of the men as Baljeet Malik alias Poppy, leading to his arrest and the eventual cracking of the case.

Mehta said Ghosh’s parents were the first to reach his shop to seek details, a day after their daughter went missing.

Mehta and the other shopkeepers could be made ‘key eyewitnesses’ along with guards posted at the ATMs in south Delhi where the accused withdrew cash from Ghosh’s account. They might be called for the identification parade of the accused tomorrow.

Sanjiv Singhal, owner of Amit Enterprises, from where the accused bought an LCD TV, said, “We can identify the killers. This is the least we can do to help the parents.”
