The panel was formed to probe irregularities in the organisation of October 2010 Commonwealth Games.

“The Shunglu committee report — in respect of CPWD — is one sided. The perception about engineering practices is not there. We have categorically said in our reply to the specific charges levelled by the Shunglu panel that CPWD was not involved in any misconduct,” said CPWD director-general CS Prasad on Tuesday.

However, Prasad confirmed that there are certain individual cases of misconduct related to the Commonwealth Games. “An inquiry is going on in those individual cases. Once its completed, necessary action would be taken,” he said. Prasad was speaking at the department’s 157th foundation day function.

The department, which comes under the Union urban development ministry, was responsible for readying a majority of the games venues, including the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, National Stadium, SP Mukherjee swimming pool and Dr Karni Singh shooting range.

Similarly, the panel found that work at Dr Karni Singh shooting range was at a cost of Rs122.50 crore.
