Communications minister Kapil Sibal will meet telecom industry captains on Tuesday as the government sets in motion a process to remove uncertainty in the sector dogged by the 2G spectrum scam.

Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata, ADAG chairman Anil Ambani and Bharti Enterprises chairman Sunil Mittal are among those who are expected to attend the meeting. Sibal will meet each one of them separately. Sources, who did not wish to be identified, confirmed that the minister will meet the industry leaders individually.
Spokespersons of Bharti, ADAG and the Tata Group said they cannot confirm the schedules of their respective chairmen.
“The objective is to have a frank discussion with all of them and get their views on all the irritants that the industry presently is facing,” said a source.
The government plans to set up five “round tables” with representation from industry, government and independent experts to have a larger public discourse for smoothening out the rough edges.
“These meetings will provide indications and valuable inputs on what is the road ahead for the sector,” the source said.
