The Delhi government may soon build an underpass to streamline the ever-increasing traffic and tackle congestion at the busy Dwarka Morh crossing in west Delhi.

The Public Works Department (PWD) on Tuesday appointed a consultant to look into the feasibility of the underpass and suggest the possible alignment and design. Once the consultant gives its nod, a detailed project report would be prepared.
Delhi PWD minister Rajkumar Chauhan, parliamentary secretary to chief minister Mukesh Sharma and a team of PWD and MCD engineers visited Dwarka Morh on Tuesday morning to assess the load of traffic at the intersection.
“This intersection often witnesses long traffic snarls resulting in wastage of fuel and time. If an underpass is built here, it would benefit lakhs of people living in the residential areas of Uttam Nagar, Janakpuri, Vikaspuri and Dwarka sub-city,” Chauhan said.
