The Congress on Thursday indicated that Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren should quit from his post following his defeat in the bye-elections in the state.

"We are not power hungry, majority is still with the UPA and even the NDA has not won," said AICC in-charge of Jharkhand Ajay Maken.
Maken the party was consulting constitutional experts on the situation which had emerged in Jharkhand.
He, however, gave broad hints that Soren should step down as it was one of the rarest cases when a sitting Chief Minister had lost an election.
Maken said Congress has nine MLAs in Jharkhand and was not a player in government formation, but said that the ruling UPA still has a majority in the tribal state.
He added that the party would consult all leaders and experts to arrive at a decision following Soren's defeat.
