Over 5,200 odd successful allottees are being affected with the delay.

The housing scheme was mired in controversy after a whistleblower alleged in January that a cartel of builders had forged documents and availed loans to corner flats under the reserved category.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police began the probe and the Union Urban Development Ministry in January put a freeze on allotment. Seven people including a former DDA employee were arrested for the scam.

The software used in the draw of lots held on December 16 last year was sent for examination at Government Examiner of Questioned Documents (GEQD), Hyderabad, which sent an inconclusive report.

In July, the EOW sent the software to Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), an autonomous body under the IT Ministry, for a second opinion.

“Once we get the report, it would be clear whether the draw was rigged or not and the DDA would subsequently be informed.”

“We are aware that a lot of people are waiting for the allocation of the flats. Considering this an in-house meeting was also convened where we discussed all the aspects of the case,” said the police officer.

Meanwhile, the successful allottees have written to the Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy saying they were paying huge amount of interest to banks against the loan they had availed to purchase the flats.

“It has been more than nine months but our dream home is still far away. We are paying heavy amount of interest on the initial amount deposited,” said Vivek Tyagi, a resident of Sector 9, Rohini, who had successfully bagged a flat in the draw of lot.
