Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi gave some basic traffic tips to Delhiites on Monday.

Following the footsteps of actor Saif Ali Khan and former cricketers Kapil Dev and Kirti Azad, Oberoi has volunteered to join hands with the Delhi traffic police to launch its ‘Respect the Pedestrian’ drive.
Walking across the India Gate-Rajpath crossing, Oberoi himself strapped the helmets of many motorcyclists and asked girls, riding pillion on two-wheelers, to wear helmets, even if it is not mandatory in Delhi.
A bike enthusiast himself, Oberoi said he had witnessed cases like deaths or haemorrhages of friends, which could have been averted had they worn helmets. “Law should be changed in Delhi and wearing helmets should be mandatory for women bikers too,” he said.
Though the actor praised the city’s ‘world-class’ road infrastructure, he criticised Delhiites' attitude of breaking road rules. “In Mumbai we do not have good roads like in Delhi, but people there are generally law abiding when it comes to traffic norms,” he said. Satyendra Garg, JCP (traffic), had also accompanied Oberoi.
