Submit forms before time, officials advise applicants

With just a week to go for applicants to buy and submit their Delhi University (DU) admission forms, the race for the coveted few seats in the varsity has gathered steady momentum.

While more than a lakh forms have been sold thus far, what still remains a cause of concern is the vast difference between the number of forms that have been sold and those that the university has received -- both online and across the counter.

Even though a total of 1.32 lakh forms have been sold over the counter, only 70,637 students have submitted their completed forms. At the same time, even though approximately 94,000 forms have been completed online, the varsity has recorded 61,051 submissions.

However, officials claimed that the gap is likely to be bridged in the coming few days.

Yet, officials have warned students not to delay their submissions. Even if students have submitted incomplete or incorrect forms, they can still submit a fresh form to the varsity. Corrections, the university says, must be made by June 19.

While officials claimed that the resultant pandemonium in the form submission centres last year had caused them to extend the submission time, no such leeway would be permitted this time.

“Last year, there was absolute chaos on the last day when there was a mad rush of students who had come to submit their forms in the last minute. Because of overcrowding, we had to extend the submission time. This time we will make no such concession. Students must submit their forms within the time limit, failing which their forms will not be accepted,” Khurana added.
