Sleep right

A minimum of 6-7 hours of undisturbed sleep is very important for the proper functioning of the brain and the eyes. This will give you the much needed rest and will help improve focus and concentration.

Wash your eyesOne should not start studying or open books or laptop immediately after waking up. Wash your eyes with clean water, the first thing in the morning.

Correct posture

Proper lighting

The room should be properly lit. Table lamps are not advisable as they radiate glare which is harmful for eyes. During day time, it is advisable to study in day light. In the evenings one can study under the tube or yellow light.

“Every 20 minutes, take a break and focus on something at a distance of 20 feet. This helps your eye muscles to relax,” said Dr Ajay Sharma, founder, Eye Q super-specialty Eye Hospital.

Blink frequently and periodically for a few minutes and take short breaks.

Take a break

Take a 15 minute break after every two hours at least. That break should be spent outside the room as you need to change the environment.
