Tax notices to schools, hospitals in south Delhi

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has issued notices to property tax defaulters, majority of which are educational institutions.

Notices were sent to 29 properties, of which 26 are situated in Najafgarh and three in the south zone. Some schools that have been sent notices include Delhi Sanskaar Bharti Shiksha Samiti, Maxfort Junior School, Mata Phoolanwanti Educational society, Rising Stars Junior School, MBS International School, Mount Saint Gariya School, ITBP Public School, Presidium School, Global Convent Senior Secondary School and CRPF Public School.

According to a senior South civic body official, the owners of these properties have either not deposited tax or have submitted less tax. “As a result, notices have been issued and further action is being initiated,” he said.Notices have also been sent to some hospitals, including Unique Hospital, Artemis Hospital, Rockland Hospital and Medwin Hospital.
