Delhi chief secretary Praveen Kumar Tripathi insisted on extensive use of technology to strengthen public transport and streamline traffic in the city.

Speaking after detailed presentations made by commissioner (transport) of New York City Janette Sadik-Khan and commissioner (planning) Amanda M Burden on their sustainable mobility plan, Tripathi said Delhi has a lot to learn from the experiences of New York.

Various government agencies such as DDA, traffic police, UTTIPEC and Delhi government's departments participated in the workshop organised by Institute for Transportation and Development Policy at L-G House on Friday. Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna was also present.
