Three arrested for attacking CBI officer

Police on Sunday arrested three men who stabbed a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer here on Thursday in an attempt to rob him, reports Abhishek Bhalla.

Sub-inspector Mohan Lal Sharma was attacked as he walked to the Nizamuddin railway station around 7.30 pm to board a train to Palwal, Haryana.

Police said robbery seems the primary motive but were probing other angles like enmity, saying investigations in some case the officer was part of could have triggered the attack.

“We are probing if the motive was to hamper investigations. The accused are being questioned and their antecedents verified,” said a police officer.
