Heads of Missions of 52 Commonwealth countries were given detailed briefing about the three-tier security arrangements for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) for which there is "no specific threat", Home Secretary GK Pillai told reporters.

Efforts were being made to ensure that normal business in the city does not get affected by the security measures in place for the Games, he said.

A three-tier security ring will be thrown across each of the 13 competition venues for the Games.

Special attention was being given to prevent "Lahore-type" attacks on the athletes who will be taken from the Games Village to the venues in dedicated lanes with helicopters providing air surveillance, Pillai said.

In Pakistan, militants attacked Sri Lankan cricketers at Lahore during their tour of the country on March 3 this year.

Pillai said International Security Liaison Group of the Home Ministry has been in regular touch with security agencies of the participating countries and steps are being taken to ensure that there is no last minute withdrawal by teams.
