As many as 46 government cars and army vehicles were challaned for plying in the bus lane on the BRT Corridor on Thursday as part of a special drive against rule violation by government vehicles.

"These included not just government cars with beacons but also 12 army vehicles. We also prosecuted three policemen traveling in private vehicles," said traffic police chief S.N. Shrivastava.
In all, 640 government vehicles, including 325 DTC buses, were prosecuted in south Delhi as part of the drive, police said, adding that a similar number of government vehicles were prosecuted on Wednesday too. However, a closer look at the Wednesday's statistics shows only 22 gypsies/cars with beacons and 19 police cars were prosecuted.
Other prosecutions included 100 roadways buses and 325 DTC buses. Total government vehicles prosecuted on Wednesday were 672.
