Trapped inside car for an hour, duo still critical

Two badly-injured people were trapped inside their car after a truck hit them in the wee hours of Saturday.

Police said the victims have been identified as Pawan Kumar (22) and Deepak (23).

“The two had gone for a drive to India Gate and were near the Maurya Sheraton Hotel, when a truck coming from the opposite direction hit their car,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak to the media.

The police said that the impact of the accident crushed their car and the two were trapped inside for over an hour.

Finally, police were able to bring in gas cutter and rescue the two.

However, they lost a lot of blood due to the delay. Police said that the injured were taken to RML Hospital where their condition is critical.
